Due to the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, we advise Estonian citizens to avoid travelling to the region. Those currently in the region should follow the instructions of local authorities and consult the information on the embassy’s website. We are currently prioritizing requests for emergency assistance; therefore, responding to routine inquiries may take longer than usual.

Agreements

  • Estonia and the United Arab Emirates have signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and an agreement for the reciprocal promotion and protection of investments. Both agreements entered into force in March 2012.
  • In September 2018 the Air Services Agreement was signed between Estonia and the United Arab Emirates which entered into force in September 2019.
  • On 7 October 2020, Estonia and the United Arab Emirates signed a memorandum of understanding, whereby Estonia and the United Arab Emirates will mutually recognise the driving licences issued in their respective countries and make it possible to exchange them without a theoretical knowledge test and a driving test.
