Estonian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Maria Belovas presents her credentials

On 30 September, Estonian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Maria Belovas formally presented her credentials to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

During the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Belovas affirmed Estonia’s interest in cooperating on the implementation of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious vision for the future. “Estonia is known for its ingenuity, speed, and efficiency. We are ready to share our experience with Saudi Arabia.”

Maria Belovas has been based in Abu Dhabi since August 2024. Prior to her arrival in the Gulf region, she served as Estonia’s Consul General in San Francisco, United States. From 2018 to 2023, she worked at the European Union Delegation in Washington as Head of Press and Public Diplomacy and spokesperson. Between 2016 and 2018, she led the Communications Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Belovas has been with the Ministry since 2008. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from the University of Tartu and a Master of Science in behavioural and organisational psychology from London Metropolitan University. In addition to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, she also serves as ambassador to Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
